Default I got a job!!!

Well, being laid off from my job at the opera after nearly five months ago, I finally landed a job as director of public relations for a large upscale retirement community/assisted living/skilled nursing facility.
Meeting with HR Monday to go over benefits package and submit to background check.
Start date first or second week of august.
Man, I've never been out this long. My stress level has gone way down.
And now I don't feel so bad about turning down that commercial shoot where wanted me to work for peanuts!
It's time to open the champagne!
Pat

Oh, man. Good luck to her. It's tough out there. I was lucky to find the right one when I did.

Congrats!

Things are super bad around here. I worked in the press room at the Record for 8 years, and busted up my back bad enough to get full disability.

Less than 6 months after that, they shut down all production in St. Augustine, and moved it to our sister company in Jax. Out of all the guys I worked with, in 3 years only one has found a job. He starts in August......as a body retriever. I'm sure he will have a lot of horror stories to tell.

Yes, I got out of news in 2004. Thank goodness. Sorry you were hurt, but glad you are at least collecting some money. My dad was a pressman for many years, but not at a newspaper.
Was just up your way visiting a few months ago. Love it there.

Thanks so much. It's been tough! Thank goodness I was able to get some freelance work to help me get through - as well as an occasional photo shoot.
Can breathe a little now.
