Default HELP - Stanford Researchers Establish Link Between Creative Genius And Mental Illness

Stanford University Medical Center (2002, May 22). Stanford Researchers Establish Link Between Creative Genius And Mental Illness.

I have been trying to find a link to the actual paper I all I get is the same homogenized story rewritten for the various web sites. I know I would suck as a PJ

I am not saying I am a genius but I am no dummy. I just want to find this. And as for the other part of the equation - yes I am. There is more than one reason I live on this forum like a loser. And yes I have been to the Stanford website.

Any help would be nice.

Since the study was done in 2002, it seems there would be some sort of link to the actual research by now? All I am seeing is the same article too.

Have you tried searching via Google Scholar? I put Stanford Researchers Establish Link Between Creative Genius And Mental Illness in and came up with heaps of results to scientific journals. Now, whether or not they're just referencing the article, I have no idea. But you might start there since it appears there are quite a few articles on the matter.

I just checked those - interestingly enough most of those are the first study involving schizophrenic - genius studys from 1970. I wonder why the 1970 study can be found but not the 2002.

I guess I will have to some how find the ISSN # and do a search on ingenta

Maybe this quote I found can help:"For more information, please visit the Web site of the medical center's Office of News and Public Affairs at Office of Communication & Public Affairs - Stanford University School of Medicine."
They may have a copy for you.

Another article mentions the source being the "Source: Handbook of Creativity. Cambridge University Press." maybe look for the archives of that.

Original press release: STANFORD RESEARCHERS ESTABLISH LINK BETWEEN CREATIVE GENIUS AND MENTAL ILLNESS - Office of Communications & Public Affairs - Stanford University School of Medicine might want to contact the two emails at the top.

good luck

It should just be a case of getting into the reference section of any paper that uses the study as a citation.

It won't be listed under Stanford, but under the journal they published the paper to.

If you can find the title of the paper it should be easy to find it, even if it's just the abstract. In order to get the full paper, you may get lucky, but may have to buy the article (usually a few bucks).
