Question Anyone used Park Cameras?

Has anyone used Park Cameras website to order photography items before? Have you ever had a problem? What would you do in this situation?

I recently ordered an item from Park Cameras website in the UK, it was a special offer item but there was no explanation as to why it was on special.

The next day I got an e-mail from them saying the the box for the item was a bit battered but the item itself which had been on display was in excellent condition, did I still want it. It asked me to get back asap so they knew whether to release it for another customer.

I replied asking what discount they would offer me for the item as it is ex-display, or to send me a new one in a new box as it was still for sale at that price on their website (in a combination of 2 e-mails over 2 days, the first one just asking for a discount, the second one justifying it more).

I've had no reply now, since Wednesday. AS far as I'm aware the money has been taken from my credit card. They have a service award from What digital camera.

Thanks for your help.

Default Anyone used Park Cameras?

Dear Rebecca

I am sorry to hear that you have not received the service you would expect from Park Cameras. I have spoken to a member of the customer service team who have advised me that no payment has yet been taken from your account, and they will be in touch with you today to resolve your issue.

Kind regards
Park Cameras

I just wanted to add that a member of the Park Camera's sales team contacted me after their post here and offered an apology for the poor service I had received and dealt with my queries in a professional and generous manner. I have no lingering bad feelings about the company, and I would use them in the future. This appears to have been a temporary lapse of service.

Unfortunately, on this occasion, I had already made my purchase elsewhere by the time they realised their mistake.

I've used Park Cameras several times and their customer services have always been excellent. I nearly always get a phone call if something is out of stock or on back order. The call centre staff always sound professional and efficient.
