For me it depends what I'm shooting. If I'm shooting people, I prefer to be in a group. If I'm shooting anything else, I'd rather be by myself because having someone else with me might distract me.

i dont mind going out alone and taking photos but i enjoy having others around. they point stuff out that i might miss and just help me when i need it. and if they are people who enjoy aking photos too its even better because we can compare shots and get new looks into things and help each other learn

I voted alone... although I have never had the privilege to shoot in a group I think I would feel a bit intimidated. Although I could probably lean a whole heap... hmmm must look up a local photography group

I love being alone when i take photography. I use photography as a way to express myself and i find it hard to let the real me shine when there are groups of people around. I know many of you dont know me here, yet, but i will surprise you as soon as i start posting pictures. Feel free to message me giving me ideas on new photos. Im willing to listen =) thanks alot

I voted alone but I haven't done a lot of shooting outside the home where I have not been accompanied by a four year old. The few I have done alone have allowed me to concentrate more on what I am doing photography-wise and I have probably learned more (not that it has helped particularly quality wise but that is another story!) Thinking about it, I think I would be happier photographing in a group in a more public place like an urban environment. If you are approached by someone who takes issue with your activity (be it random member of the public, security guard or whoever), you have a bit more moral support and backup should you need it. In a quieter place, I think that being in a group might detract from the experience more. From a personal point of view, I would love the opportunity to do more of both kinds!!

I have yet to go on one of these photowalks but I suspect I'd enjoy alone better. I find photography very relaxing and I love going at my own pace. I'd hate to drag other ppl back or even make them feel like I'm done and hurry them along.

That being said though, I have a fellow photography fanatic and we both bring cameras to many of our social gatherings. I love seeing his different style and perspective and it really pushes me forward to try different things.

I voted for groups but I limit my group size to no more than three photographers. The best part about the group outing is that afterwards you get to review everyone’s pictures and see what they saw that you did not. Also my group outings are usually with two very good friends.

I would imagine photographing in a group would place more of a focus on socializing, and wouldn't allow me to focus on what to shoot. I would probably get distracted and miss good photo opportunities. That being said, I am sure there is a lot to learn from people in these photo groups and would like to try it. Its always nice to meet people who enjoy your hobbies.

My vote was for alone, but for a wedding, I definitely take a long a buddy to catch what I might miss. Too much on the line.
