Default Best intermediate level camera?

Hi, I'm new here. I would love to find out what you think is the best intermediate level SLR on the market right now. Thank you!

I've not bought anything. Have been using a friend's canon rebel t3, and I like it, but I am ready to make a purchase so I want to see what opinions are about other cameras.

as far as I know the rebel is an entry level dslr.
the mid level dslr is canon 60D or canon 7D (don't know about nikon...) but they are much more expansive then the rebel which is a great camera for beginners.
it all comes down to what you're planning to do and shoot with that camera.
