Default Entering Photos At The Fair

Our county fair is coming up and they have an open photography category that I am thinking of maybe entering just for fun. I am very new to photography so I don't expect much

The rules are very vague and mostly centered upon how big the print can be and how it can be mounted. It says nothing about post processing. I'm wondering if it is permissible to tweak photos before entering them? Anyone know if that is acceptable or if it would be cheating?

It seems like most photos are tweaked in some way, even if it is just a crop.

What do you all know/think?

I may try to call someone and find out for sure.

I just did the same thing, only it was a local festival. My only requirement was that they were framed and ready for hanging. They really didnt care about anything else. There should be a phone number you can call and ask questions, I'm sure they will be very helpful.

We always enter a photo or two in our local fair... as with the above poster.. it seems the size and matting is more important.... tweaking is perfectly acceptable here...

I think most fair art and photo shows are about the art. Of course post should be allowed. Saying no post would be like telling a painter "look you can use seven colors but don't mix them to make other colors, and you can only use round brushes".
Setting up the camera and pushing the button is only part of the art... Why shouldn't you be allowed to use all the tools available?
