Default Omg !!!

I broke my new 50 mm lens. I dropped it and it is now in 2 pieces. none of the glass is broke and it seems as if all the pieces are actually still intact, but it just seperate into 2 pieces. Not real sure how to explain it I will try to take a pic and post it tomorrow. I wonder if it is fixable and if it is even worth fixing or if I should just save the money to buy a new one.

Well, dang!
Do you have insurance? It'd have to be worth at least getting an assessment, surely?

I am guessing that you mean the 50 1.8? This lens is notorious for doing that. I'm frankly not sure how much is would cost to fix. Worth a shot though.

Well Hubby found instructions on how to fix it and he is pretty handy with stuff like that so I figured since it will only run me about $130 to replace it if all else fails I am going to let him have a go at it.

Yep actually only took him about 20 mins. Basically he had to just disassemble and reassemble it. The 2 inside pieces just popped apart,

Hopefully he didn't reassemble it out of phase as all your images will be off by 90 degrees...

Just having a go Glad to see you got it sorted and all is ok.
