Default Dear Gov't of Canada

Thanks for the tax return (s) ... 3 years worth (I'm proud to say my Mommy no longer does my taxes)

But....

Why is it DOUBLE what I was expecting?

Do they *want* me to buy a new camera? Hmmm?

No. No, they don't. They want you to buy *me* one.

Ask a silly question....

The exact same thing happened to me a few years back. I went out and bought a guitar amp for a lot of money. A few months later I got a notice from Canada Revenue Agency saying that there had been an error and that I had to pay them back the money that I'd already spent. I fought it, but guess who won that fight? (hint; it wasn't me!).

SJCT - Blind Assassins wouldn't have been the same without the gear, or Mr Torrance

I just got my tax returns back now because I filed 2008, 2009 and 2010 returns at the beginning of June. Like I said, Mommy doesn't do my tax returns anymore.

Lets see if I can convince the government to let me keep it....

Pix! I had no idea it was you when I responded. I read your response and it took me a couple of seconds to figure out how you knew who I was! I should have paid more attention.

Good point though, and hey, it's not like I sold the amp to pay that money back!

So...are you going to get a new camera? What do you use right now, and what would you get?

How can you file for the past 3 years and not have any late penalties? Did you really not have to file, but chose to, so you get all the money you paid in back?

The government doesn't enforce late penalties if they owe you money. If you owe them, it's a whole other story.
