Default Lasik and Photography

Anyone have any negative effects of lasik on their photography? For instance I know when my mom got it her far-away vision got much better but that she has to use glasses for close up things (or hold the thing like a foot from her). So I was wondering if this would impact the way I see through the view finder or if the focus thing on the side of it (proper term of course) would be able to adjust to that. Thanks guys!

The diopter on your camera should adjust for that. It's that tiny lil knob right next to the viewfinder on a Nikon.

I dont know where its at on any other brands, but just looking or consulting your manual should tell you.

I had Lasik a couple of years ago and haven't noticed any problems with photography. Bear in mind that short-sightedness that the Lasik deals with, affects different parts of the eye than long-sightedness (needing reading glasses). So Lasik will fix the myopia but not the long sightedness. People generally tend to go long... as they age, my myopia is all fixed, thanks to Lasik but I find that I need to move the book away just a bit further than I used to.
And as for the recovery time from Lasik surgery - I had my eyes done on a Thursday afternoon and by Saturday morning I was on the rifle range zeroing my rifle. Just great, highly recommend it.

had Lasik 10 years ago. Need reading glasses but that does not affect the view finder image at all. Sometimes I need my readers to verify my settings because my eye just don't focus as fast any more. That is not a Lasik issues but rather a aging issue.

Thanks for all the answers guys! I'm very very near-sighted (supposedly 20/1200 but upon reading how bad that is I don't believe it's quite so extreme) and lasik is something I've been thinking about. I was told I'd be a good candidate, it's kind of freaky to me though lol I want go do it, minus the whole procedure part.
