Default shutter count

short of taking it to a service center.. and counting all of my files.. can someone tell me how to check the shutter count on my Canon 7d ? is there a program I can download to check it? why wouldn't canon include it in the EXIF??

I think all Canons restart the image number count @ 9999. I use EOS info to check shutter count so I know where I stand. I also would not buy a camera without being allowed to run it.

Hope this helps

Unfortunately EOS doesn't work with the 7D model. Canon does not include the shutter number as it has no bearing on the warranty from Canon. Theirs is based on time from purchase. Nikon doesn't base their warranty on the shutter actuations either but they do include it in the exif as a guide to have your camera serviced to extend the useful life.

You can probably find out how to get your count by checking google.

I learn something new everyday. I figured there was a reason 7D was not in the list but everything else is
