Default Suppose you are shooting some HS football games this fall.

What setup would you use?

Just guessing here, but I'm thinking:

2 Bodies
1 equipped with a 70-200 2.8 and monopod (would LOVE the 400 2.8, but $$$$ are a factor here)
1 equipped with something more "normal", like a 17-50 2.8.

Thoughts from some of you experienced in this area?

Also depends on what sort of access you have. Are you going to be on sidelines, in the stands, somewhere else?

Lighting at HS games really suck. I use two camera; EOS MKII's (still the best focus tracking system of all the lot). One is equipped with a 70-200 and the other, either a 400mm or 300mm. I carry the 17-35 in a vest pocket, for closeups.

I use these settings: IS) 800-1000
Flash on high speed setting at 1/16 power output
Camera manuel settings: shutter at either 250th or 320th
F-stop f2.8.

Good luck and have fun.
