Default Camera Bag Pro Tip

Pro Tip: Don't get a new camera bag the night before you leave for a trip. I've packed, unpacked, and repacked this thing for the last 3 hours searching for the One True Fit.

Hahaha.. it's why I've still got the same two backpacks for the last 4 years. I could do it in the dark. Some things you learn in the Army DO come in handy in the future (unlike the beer chugging thing)

Here's what I came up with:

Excuse the crappy photo. It was taken with a Nikon. Lulz. Just kidding. Or am I?
  • Canon 5D Mark II with battery grip
  • Canon 450D with battery grip
  • Canon 100mm f/2.8L, Canon 24mm f/1.4L, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L, Canon 50mm f/1.4, Canon 18-55mm craptastic kit lens (because I lost the body cap for the Rebel)
  • Three speedlites: Canon 580EXII, Canon 430EXII, LumoPro LP120
  • Three Pocket Wizard Transceivers
  • Battery pack for the 580EXII
  • Sekonic Light Meter
  • Randomly visible: Black Rapid R-Strap, Rocket Blower, Stofen diffuser, tripod foot for bag, compression straps, and raincoat for the roller bag
  • Under stuff: Three umbrella brackets, Gorillapod, 43" collapsible umbrella, AA battery charger, charger for the 5DMII, and charger for the Rebel
  • In other areas of the bag not pictured: 21' eTTL cord, sync cords, CF/SD card reader, Strobist gel kit, black foam for speedlite flags, AA batteries, CF cards, SD cards, microfiber cloth, brass monkeys, tripod head, lens pen, dusting brush, and my Square credit card reader

The bummer is I'll have to completely rework the configuration for weddings to accommodate a third body and a 70-200mm. Oh well. It's a good start and I'm very impressed with the bag.

Are you trying to say that beer chugging doesn't come in handy?

Canons, they pack like they shoot - takes a few tries

I'm the same with my Lowepro Trekker - always rearranging to get it just right.
