Default What do you listen to when you edit?

I was wondering this. I listen to various music when I edit. I have everything in my collection from classical to death metal. Usually I find something in the middle to listen to when I am editing. I find this helpful when I do long editing sessions like photo repair.

Do you listen to anything or do you just like the silence of it all?

To be honest, I love listening to music while I do processing...I just often forget to. I'll start an album playing, and it'll finish, and I'll be so distracted with what I'm doing I forget to start something else.

Lately I've just started up Pandora and let it go; it's gotten pretty damn good at predicting music I'll like (Rise Against, 3 Doors Down, and Three Days Grace type of stuff, usually).

My laptop no like too many things going on at once. I generally just listen to the silence. The central unit, my animals breathing as they nap. During the day I'll leave the TV on downstairs for a bit of noise. I talk to my husband on Skype for a few hours close to noon. Or, semi talk to him. He games, and sends me funny or cute things he finds on 4chan. I was focusing so hard on editing those portraits that I just did, I hardly noticed anything else. So music would just become background noise anyways.

Barney. You know the one.... "I love you, you love me...." yeah. Its the only thing i can put on that will entertain my lil girl enough that will give me time for editing lol. Im pretty focused though, so i hardly hear it. Good thing too cause i heard that purple dinosaur will drive you nutters.

i listen to a lot of stuff, but it depends on who i'm who i'm listening to alot at the moment, or what i'm editing at the moment. for instance, portraits, i tend to listen to more melodic stuff, like my favorite local band, Picture Atlantic, or bands like Young the Giant, Freelance Whales, As Tall As Lions, Mute Math, etc. cars, i listen to classic/hard/grunge like Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix. Lots of Blues as well.

Silence.. I've got quite bad tinnitus, and when I'm editing, the tinnitus goes away, so its a nice change to have a bit of peace and quiet without the constant high pitched noise.

I listen to a lot of blues, jazz and rock - no so much when editing, I tend to not hear it then. I enjoy taking a break now and again and play a few riffs on my Telecaster - just a bedroom hack mind you.
