Who owns your social network images?

Found this through another forum, but I thought it would make a great resource here too.

It has a great rundown of the TOS from 12 large photo sharing websites including facebook, in plain English. We've had a few of those sensationalist threads where people claim facebook owns all your work and whatnot. Just review the spreadsheet for the facts.

I can see the problems with Twitter, but FlickR is pretty solid. What don't you like about their TOS?

Facebook albums are an intrugal(sp) part of my business model - especially with marketing.
But I wouldn't be happy if my "photography" shots were to be sold by some 3rd party.

mabey i'm missing something here, but isnt the getty images thing optional? you dont have to apply it, so it shouldnt be a problem?

It's an opt-in arrangement: the user has to select that they want to allow Getty images access, and they have to contact you about it first.
