Default My dSLR fell

I knew it has to happen once, but did not expect it to happen today. It was on a small tripod chair (!!!) and when I reached to take it, strap somehow tangled and everything ended up on the floor... chair and camera both.

Luckily, 5 seconds rule saved the day, I managed to pick it up in an instant and could eat it... I mean, it works fine by the looks of it...

Well, now that my life is 30 seconds shorter forever... should I check for something specific?

Does it work? If so, you've probably got away with it. Fingers crossed

Mine's taken a few small tumbles.
Fallen off the bed 'cause I forgot I left it there and it had gotten covered... er, that's happened a few times... I'm a kind of messy person.

But it's fine so far!

I would go through and check all the functions out to see if they're working properly. I'd be a little afraid that the contacts between the lens and camera had been damaged, but I don't know how to check for that...

Hm... now I often find that sky is completely burned in my photos... and I'm afraid that metering mechanism is damaged... or I suddenly started doing something completely wrong (like taking photos in the strong lighting conditions, lol).

It's not always the case, but here are some examples:

f/3.5, 1/125, iso200, no flash

f/5, 1/200, iso400, no flash

What do you think? Could it just be the time of the year (summer, sunny weather) in combination with low angles and the time of the day (6.10pm)?

btw, for something mentioned before - i tried taking the lens off and on, it works, and D60 does not have internal focusing engine so there's no problems there.

Both those shots you posted have a pretty high dynamic range, i'd definately expect the sky to be blown out in those.

Thanks. I thought that may be it, but was not sure... better to check with more experienced people than to be sorry later, no? Thanks again man.

Maybe that's why I use the pro bodies (MKII's) I don't know how many times I dropped my EOS-1 D's, but I'd take a titanium body that has waterproof seals over plastic anytime. And guess what? They still work. Nowadays, I just clamp them behind home pate, and first and third base photo well and are used as a remote. I once saw a foul ball smack one that a Japanese photographer set up next to mine. It still worked.
