I found this through the "You Are Not A Photographer" website. Yes, they bash others work,..but they also give tribute to photogs who really do know what theyre doing.
I thought this was very well stated. My Advice For Aspiring Photographers - Feature Story - JPG Magazine |

I read that once on the main blog. The saying "I'm a photographer and with a straight face" is till something I struggle with. I naturally are quite modest with my achievements and don't generally tell anyone about them.

Great post !
"Learn to say "I'm a photographer" out loud with a straight face." That, I can do. Now, if I can just add the word "good" somewhere in there...

great post - bookmarked
I can do the "I am a good photographer" with a straight face sort of. It seems that no matter how many accolades I get they never seem to convince me.

So much of what was said in that piece was Common Sense Wisdom...but my favorite
Until you can use those tools consistently and masterfully, don't spend another dime. Spend money on equipment ONLY when you've outgrown your current equipment and you're being limited by it. I love that, and apply that to almost everything...camera included!! Thanks for the post, it most definitely encouraged me. -Julia |
