Default Do you still get just a little excited?

When purchasing new equipment, do you still get just a little excited about it? I just unpacked my new D7000 body and I am waiting for the battery to charge as I type this. And I can't help feel a little excited in anticipation about setting it all up and then going out to put it through its paces. Unfortunately, I have a mother-in-law in hospital, I've got to take my mother for a hearing aid fitting tomorrow morning and then to a funeral tomorrow afternoon. By the weekend I'll be teething at the bit to take this new camera out.

I'm also waiting on a new battery grip to arrive and a couple of spare batteries. Currently I have a D90 with grip not even a year old and because of these hard times, I will be selling it. The D90 is a fabulous camera and I'm upgrading now because even with our high aussie dollar, I paid 2/3 of the price I can get it for here and with 2 yrs door to door warranty.

I'm feeling a bit like a kid with a new toy, but can't get to play with it yet. So, do any of you still get a little excited with a new photograhic arrival - or is it like buying another spanner for your toolbox?

Yeah! I took about 700 photos the first weekend I bought my dSLR. Then earlier in the year when I bought a new lens it didn't come off for about 2 weeks

Nope, I don't get a little excited. I get a lot excited. I stalk the UPS or FedEx tracking page like a crazy woman. I'm surprised I haven't kissed the delivery guys on the lips, yet.

I even get excited over mundane stuff like new seamless paper. I've got a gift card to B&H burning a hole in my wallet. I'm torn between saving it and using it towards a new lens, or buying something less expensive. We shall see....

LOL, it's Christmas every time the UPS shows up. I got a replacement lens cap and a lens hood yesterday and I was so excited. Is that pathetic?

I don't get excited over new gear or technology usually.
However I do get exited over some subjects and/or different shooting/lighting conditions.

Seeing I now know the real deal about Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny - anticipation of the UPS and the Fed Ex guys is the new black.

I do a little, only because of the price I pay for stuff makes me nervous to think it's bouncing around the back of a truck at high velocity... possibly breaking my new fancy shiny crap.
