Default Best photo backup tool?

Hi, I'm relatively new to slr digital photography, and I'm just realising how large my photo library is going to become!
I'm wondering the best way to backup my photos. Im thinking I'd like an online solution, is there anywhere you would suggest?
Thanks,
Sam.
(Im shooting RAW so no flickr )

an external HD works. I do that plus I back up the jpgs (what most printers require) using zenfoli, also used for order processing

Agreed with "private". I use an external HDx2 plus use a flickr pro account for jpgs.

I have 2 x external HDs, and my best, most important (to me) shots are uploaded all over the net. If my house burns down and my drives get cooked, I will be able to recover our family memories.

I use a 15TB server. Ok that is extreme. Before that I was using two external 1 TB drives. Many people are moving to Carbonite - Online Backup ? Data & File Backup Software | Carbonite

The only thing I dont like about carbonite is they charge you per computer. I shoot from two cameras and work from two computers. I use the laptop to process any in the field stuff that I just cant wait till I get home.

I don't pretend to think my method is ideal, but for the most part I feel pretty safe about just using Carbonite. I hesitated to subscribe for a while, and as Izzy states, it is a subscription PER computer, so keep that in mind. For me, it works well, and there are no storage limitations.

The downside will be re-downloading hundreds of gigabytes of photos in the case of a hard drive failure. :'(

2 external hard drives on 2 different locations.
one will be at home and the other one with one of my friends or family members.
this way, if something happens at home (fire, flood, theft) I have another back up that may not be quite up to date but most of the stuff will be there.
