Default What documentary photography should be

Not for the faint hearted but I think this is how documentary photography should be.

Warning.. it is depressing. I am not responsible for you reading this if you're very sensitive to tragic stories.

So yeah, it's for you and anyone who are more empathetic to human suffering.
It's also amazing story telling.

Such dedication! The photographer certainly remained focused throughout the hold ordeal!
Well done documentary!

Well, I don't have a great amount of time to look at this, but I did look briefly. What I find both interesting and sad is that this woman's life pretty much sucked from beginning to end, unlike anything I can possibly imagine, which I am sure is the whole point.

Agreed.. and it made me think about the recent discussion on this forum about the documentarians role, and I like seeing that the photographer/storyteller was actually involved and intervened. The storyteller because part of the story and, to me, that enhanced it.

Yeah, without reading it all, you can't imagine just how bad.
Anyone want to hug me? I need it.

Same here. I've heard so many tragic stories that it almost doesn't phase me much anymore.
