Welcome to the forums.

As you'll hear a lot, just practice, practice, practice. You can always post photos to the critique forum to get some insight on how you can improve them. Just for thought, I've posted a quick edit of yours as an attachment -- if that bothers you, let me know, I'll gladly remove it.

Firstly, you can correct for the blue haze by pulling in the black point level on your Blue channel in Photoshop. Second, pull in the levels for the overall image to boost the contrast a bit. Third, sharpen it a bit after you've done all your editing. Finally, I cropped it just a bit to a view I liked better, but everyone's opinion will be different.

Thanks for sharing!

When you shoot sunsets (or just about anything else), bracket your shots. You'll find that the underexposed image usually has the most color in the sky. You can read up on exposure blending to merge a shot exposed for the sky with one exposed for the ground.

I agree with Krusty, but in the absence of a tripod or if there are moving subjects, you can also try a circular polarizer or a graduated neutral density filter.

If that's straight off the camera, you might try playing around with your Image Processing defaults, maybe set it to Vivid or More Vivid, and see if you like the results better.

In addition to the things above, shooting at a 90 degree angle from the sun will give you the deepest blues in the sky, and when shooting sunsets, set your white balance to cloudy, then press the right arrow, press again until the top number says A3. ( I got this tip from my newest book, The Digital Photography Book Vol. 1 by Scott Kelby ) Just remember to change it back, after your done. ( You'll understand what this does, if you do it. )
