Default Photographers whose work inspires you...

People who's work inspires me to try harder and work more thoughtfully, so far, include...

Morgan Silk
Dave Hill
Joey Lawrence
Manray

There are more, but none come to mind at the moment...

So who inspires you to take risks, push the limits and find the art behind your lens?

Nice idea for a thread, but would be more helpful to readers if links (if possible) were supplied with the names added. Save a lot of time on Google

I think this question has already been answered to recently, at least that's the case for me.

Your fave contemporary photographers and why?

No need to apologise. I just thought it would be a good idea for newbies - and even the more expeienced. We can never learn enough especially from good well heeled photographers.

Not so keen on Morgan Silk, Dave Hill or Manray.. All good, but really not my style.. Now Joey Laurance is good, I love travel photography..

But I find most of my inspiration in National Geographic. Forget photo competitions etc. If I have one aim in life, it's to produce a photo that's published in NG.. Keep your eyes open and your camera handy, you never know when a National Geographic moment will occur.

I'm a portrait photographer, so here are my favorites:

ljholloway photography | Custom Portrait Photographer | Kingman, Arizona 86401 | Las Vegas, Nevada photographer
Innamorata Photography ~ Wedding and Portrait Photography in Chattanooga, Atlanta, Knoxville, Nashville, Greenville, and Birmingham ~ Also offering Destination Wedding Packages
And how can I not mention, DPS's own Ruthie Mae? Ruthie Mae Photography
Also, I have to mention my mentors, Vinnie and Cathy Montalbano (Vinnie is another DPS'er, a.k.a. "autofocus"). They were a tremendous help to me when I was first starting out, and are wonderful friends. Vinnie actually came to my home shortly after I got my DSLR and tutored me for four hours in the basics of photography, and for months and months would give me advice and honestly critique photos I emailed to him. Cathy photographed my kids when they were much younger and I fell in love with her work - it's all their fault I got into photography! Their site is http://www.montalbanophotography.com.

ETA: A couple more just came to mind:
