Default Ripping my hair out

Tonight I was looking at my 11x14's to marvel at them. Then I noticed that stuff was cropped off !! I did not do 8x10 because of the cropping issue.

This would not be such an issue except that in an effort to remove BS in the picture I shot with the subject so close to the edge that the cropping along with the mat takes alot away from the image.

So I have 2 choices it appears for print sizes that are native without cropping. 4x6 and 16x24.

The first is worthless and the second, matted frames for that size jump to over $100.....

ok enough complaining

8x12 isn't too bad and you wouldn't be cropping anything.

I'm a lil confused as to what exactly it is that your talking about,...but

Is there some way that you can find out what kind of crop you would need to make in order for it to print how you want. For instance, the guy I was working for would crop the trading cards 5x7, the memory mates were 8x10's. If you can find the dimensions that best crop to print, then you might not have much of an issue?

This is just a guess, since I know jack about printing, since I havent needed to do it yet.

+1 I am starting to see more and more 8x12 frames available at various retailers at reasonable prices.

8X12 works great. But with Mpix, if I want an 8X10 I can choose where I want the crop to be.

I think I am going to go with the tough $hit POV.

If you want the whole image you buy it at 16x24 or larger (or the 18x12) and frame and mat it yourself. I am too poor to get into more than a $20 frame. Basically if it looks REAL NICE and it is at Walmart I am buying it. I found a group I like that does not appear to be made cheaply like most of the stuff on the Walmart shelves.

Besides NOONE is going to pay more than $150 for each of my pieces, which means they will never pay for an $80 frame to boot.

Now if I had a spastic fit with a brush to canvass someone might pay that price. My dog likes to roll around on the ground. I think I will smear him with tempura paint and let him roll around on canvass. Maybe I should be his agent and give him some European sounding name?

I'd suggest you get a poodle if you're going to start doing stuff like that.. I'm sure nobody will look twice if you walk down the street with a pink poodle called Fifi.. And as long as you start calling eveyone "Daaaarling!!" you'll be able to add a nought to the value of your prints.
