Default Idea for possible new feature on DPS??

After cruising the SYS section I saw lots of work I liked. Couldn't think of a comment to post on them so I passed on. I was thinking that it would be nice to have a feature in which people could "like" a photo without having to make a comment. And well like sour comments one could keep their sour vote or like.

I just think a thumbs up like, dig , whatever feature would be nice.

I've thought the same would be useful; I can't always come up with a useful comment, but like the photo. One thing you can do in the meantime is give the thread a rating -- doesn't really give the granularity for individual photos, but it's still a nice touch.

Why couldnt you just type the word in response? Most people that have a Facebook would understand it. Unless you think that simply typing it feels impersonal or lacks feeling. That you feel like if your going to type something, that it should be more personal and say something about what you think about the photo or what you like about it.

A "like" button could very well serve a purpose though.

There's a plugin for the bulletin board software that runs DPS that provides a "Like" button -- it's called VBSeo. I have a feeling there may even be a version of that plugin running on this site, since I saw Darren's smiling face giving an endorsement on the VBSeo home page.

Feature I want? A mobile skin for the forum so it can be more easily used from a mobile device. But then, I don't have to maintain this board.

I have a HTC Evo and have had no issues using the site. But I do have to double tap sometimes to be able to get my fat finger on the specific link I want to click.

Not enough characters in "like."

Maybe it's because I'm using Safari on an iOS device. But try this site from your Evo's browser, just as an example of how a vBulletin board can look in a mobile skin. No issues with fingers being too fat, and no squinting at tiny font sizes and no need to double-tap or pinch or whatever to magnify the page. It's basically just auto-recognizing mobile devices and serving up a different CSS for viewing the board.
