Default Yeah, I'm gonna do it...

Post a "got any advice" thread. Cuz I know how much you guys looooove those open ended general questions.

I'm going to The Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine at dawn. I'm hoping to get some really good bridge shots sans vehicles. Then I'm going to the St. Augustine Cross.

Got any advice?

Bridge of Lions

The Cross

I've shot both places before with not much luck.

I have my tri-pod, my Mono-Pod, my Canon & kit 18-55 and my zoom 55-270mm two good filters. My UV and my Polarizer and a shutter release.

I like the view with the sail boats moored on the north side of the bridge, looking S. and E. toward the bridge. The lions themselves make good subjects too.

Don't shoot from dry land at the cross if you can. The bridge if you want a panoramic shot look for a high spot and shoot down. As with any subject if you can get the perspective that hasn't been beaten to death you will get a memorable photo.

I'll just give general advice / idea...
You seem to have a few wide angle/general shot.
How about some details?

Take pictures in the early morning or late evening, even at dusk.

Yeah, if the bridge has lights,.do it at night. The cross, is it lit at night? Try to get an angle on it that no one else has. The bridge too. Rent a boat, and shoot it from underneath.

Review the photos from last time to see what you want to do differently.
