Default My sappy love story to DPS

It's been almost 2 years since I joined DPS, and even though I have not been shooting anything recently, this is still one of my favorite places to be! Not just from a photographic standpoint, but for the people as well.

I always thought of myself as a fairly open minded person, but I never realized how much culture, and different ideas that I have been missing out on while living in my little bubble that is the epitome of "Smalltown, USA". I am happy to have been a part of some great conversations and the sometimes heated debates. With the broad spectrum of personalities I have been able to be in contact with here, it has taught me a great deal about dealing with people, which has in turn, carried over in to my personal, day to day life.

All in all, I have had a great experience to be a part of this community, and hope it can continue for a long time to come! Even the good, bad, and sometimes ugly!

My apologies for being kind of sappy, but I felt like saying thank you to everyone here for giving me some really good life lessons, and a lot of things to think about!

Oh yeah, the photography is still fun too!

RLucas ---I know what you mean. I also live in a small berg of a town on the Kitsap Peninsula, 23 miles from Tacoma and 58 to Seattle. This forum is never a lack of entertainment for me. And I don't apologize for being of sappy.

Totally agree with you Luke and we joined at the same time lol! You've learnt more than me though judging from your portraits that you've posted over the months.

I've probably got more "friends" on here than I do on facebook. I kind of treat this site as a kind of social network community and I "share" far more personal details than I do on facebook.

This is one of the first sites I visit when I turn on the interweb in the morning. When I first joined it was all about checking out the photos and tutorials, now as I've gotten to know people more the General Cit Chat is usually the first place I look, I may not always say much but I usually have a good chuckle.
Love the multinational feel to it too, always good to see things from someone else's perspective.

Ditto,..I open up Chrome, and click on the Facebook thumbnail and the DPS thumbnail. Although, I'm of course not one to keep my trap shut all the time, even though sometimes maybe I should. Eh,... love me or hate me.

Same feeling here Luke. I am quite grateful to all the people here who have taken the time to help me along and answer questions. And yep, after a quick glance in my email box this is the first place I swing through every morning!
