There's a lot of great shots there. I like how they have a section where the photographers tell how they got the shot. I laugh at the folks who say they don't do any PP - I guess they'll continue to limit themselves and never get any great shots like the ones on that site.

Yeah, 1x.com is certainly a good website with lots of good photography. What separates them from the rest is the way they work, they have a bunch of judges who decide if a photo is good enough to be featured on 1x. They judge it on basis of technical and aesthetical quality, but also on feeling (they have some sort of predefined vision of what kind of photography they want). They have a complex multi-level system of judging, but sometimes your photo might be rejected based solely on a feeling by one of the moderators. Because of that, you're not likely to find a poor quality photo in their galleries. I tried to submit an image only once and it didn't go through, and I was lazy to try again. I should be more persistent.
