Default Wow, I didn't know this...

...about the Hasidic Jewish faith.

Aparently, women cannot be depicted in newspapers.

Read HERE about their photoshop disaster.

And this clip from the Colbert Report is, to me, quite funny.
Hasidic Newspaper Removes Hillary Clinton - The Colbert Report - 5/9/11 - Video Clip | Comedy Central

I'm not commenting on their beliefs.. i just found it very interesting and since I didn't know this fact I assume at least one other person didn't know this and would find it interesting as I did.

Please don't turn this into a religious belief bashing thread or else I'll give you nasty looks!

I read that article too, maybe they should've just photoshopped on a burkha - at least she'd still have been there

Just an extreme example of how selective newspapers are in choosing what to print.

Yeah, apparently. It's fascinating. I love learning new things I had no clue about. I wonder if they can depict cartoons/drawings of women in their newspaper/media... must see if I can find out.

that's just to show you.. when you read or hear a story on the news (or every where else), the first question that needs to be asked is who is telling me the story and why.

and just to make things clear.. it's not every jewish newspaper - just the extremely fanatic ones.

With all the corrections and updates and such,..it also really makes you think about the experience or education of the columnist. It seems to me that an experienced columnist would have either checked the facts themselves, or if they have one, have the fact checker do it. I know that every publication screws up their info sometimes. Time Magazine has a section that usually has some small thing in it on their page for letters to the editor. A date that was wrong, or a sentence correction that was taken out of context. But 5 updates and corrections seems a bit much, to me.

I'm not discounting that what the article is about isnt true. It very well could be. Just that I find it odd that someone doesnt seem to be a very good journalist.

Being a traveler, I've found there are certain religious faiths that take it to the extreme. And that's all I'm going to say.
