Default Something funny

My aunt just posted on facebook that she had a snake in her flower garden. She was about to pick it up because she had mistaken it for a kitten. I am sitting her ROFL (with her, she is laughing at herself too). How on earth do you mistake a black snake for a kitten?
Any thoughts?
BTW, I am scared to sh*tless of snakes. They creep me out like nothing else in this world can. I can't even look at a photo of a snake without feeling the uncontrollable need to pick my feet up off of the floor.

I can only dream of living somewhere that there's snakes in the garden. Reptiles fascinate me!

Come on over brother. Florida is the best place in the world to see snakes and reptiles.

I live in FL. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a snake around here (hey, don't blame me for the saying)

To me the only good snake is a dead snake whose been transformed into a nice pair of Italian boots.

Might I suggest glasses for Grandma?

I had a snake shoved down my shorts once in a reptile farm in Dominican Republic.. My ex thought it was hilarious that I had a huge snake hanging out of the bottom of my shorts.. I was less impressed.. I was wearing swimming shorts.

LOL
That's pretty funny.

I grew up with snakes, and had half a dozen at any one time.
If any of the neighbours saw one, I would get a call real quick to come get it.

I miss snakes.
It's such a cool experience growing up and going "snake hunting" under logs, and then going out looking for food for them too.

I miss them too. I had a load of pet snakes but I also spent entire family holidays hunting for reptiles and bugs.

Like I said, I am scared to death of snakes. One time, we had one in our old house. I totally flipped out. It was teeny tiny and we got it out, but I stayed in a hotel until they figured out how it got in. It is kind of funny to think about now. My oldest son was about 10 and I had just told him to go to the kitchen to do his homework. He calmly came strolling back into the living room and said very matter of factly "There's a snake in the kitchen." I guess you had to be there.

I am more than happy to live in a country where there are no snakes - except in zoos. A few years ago when we were holidaying in Aus we encountered a snake in the wild. We'd just been to Steve Erwin's Australia Zoo, and watched the show, learned all about snakes. So I had in my mind "a snake can only strike over a range of one third it's body length". Here we are in this wlderness area, just walking along the track and I hear a rustling in the undergrowth. I said to Hubby "there's something in there" and I'm peering in the leaves. Sure enough theres this yellowy-gold coloured snake, not much fatter than my finger but over a meter long. I was doing a quick calculation in my head, 300mm I should be OK here. You know what they say about a little bit of information being dangerous. Hubby's freaking out in the background. We do not know how to identify which are the harmless ones and which are venomous. I lived to tell the tale. But I am glad there are no snakes in New Zealand.
