1. Bean bags are easy to make, Google is your friend here. You can fill a home made bean bag with rice or - yes- beans. Could be useful if you get really hungry in the bush.

2. I'd think that could be a very interesting photo essay. You'd need to work on your punctuation and spelling though.

Bean filled bags are lighter and edible as long as you don't let them go too long, as in more than a few months before you eat them. Sand filled bags are the most stable but heavy, although you can usually fill them on site and dump them when done. Bags of shot like number 4 size are really good but you have to keep them as is and they are stinking heavy. Go to a Gander mtn for shot bags and to a real grocery for cloth bean bags although you may have to have Mom or someone sew you up some. I would make them from well worn jeans leg sections.

As to the spelling and punctuation, if you know it is a problem and you don't fix it, you are being lazy and undetermined. Which if you are into bush craft and living off the land in a primitive style you know such traits will end in death. Dave Canterbury and John and Geri McPherson will tell you that. So get cracking and do the best you can all the time not just when you feel like it.

That would make a very interesting photo essay.. Last moments.. Don't forget your auto-shutter release for when you're too weak to press it yourself. It's the bit where you get ravaged by wolves I'm looking forward to, can you make sure someone knows to post the photos here please?

There are a couple of them out there. One by a guy who thought he could become part of the bear family and ended up as part of the bear. And another who went into the wilderness and was wholly unprepared mentally and physically to deal with the process of subsistence living.

Grizzly Man

Just sad

I have done a bit of it in the past. I live within 300 yards of the Lake Woodruff wildlife refuge which is along the St. Johns river and connects to the Ocala national forest. It is large enough that we have Rainbow children living in it in significant numbers to be bothersome.

I had thought about doing a photo blog on swamp living. Let me get my last child off to college and I will do it.

Be sure to put your beans in a ziplock plastic bag, so that they don't swell if they get wet.
