Default Eurovision Song Contest - did anyone watch?

I have to say I haven't watched it for years but last night I did and I think it's fair to say that its not the same without good old Terry Wogan giving his random anecdotes.

What the heck was it all about with Moldova and the Cone Hats? Funny how alot of the eastern European countries vote for each other's neighbouring countries and even the Scandavanian countries giving each other 12 points. Poor old UK the black sheep of Europe We did better than in previous years and at least we didn't come away with nil poi

Its all a load of tosh really and it just passed the time on the usual Saturday night rubbish on TV.

Funnily enough, we didn't watch this year!! Too many things to watch with our limited parental tv time (the baby owns the tv now). And yeah, no Terry Wogan means stale commentaries. It really isn't the same.

After eight hours of footy this weekend, I had it inflicked on me. Never laughed so much in my life. The SBS commentary was just a hoot. Bring back ABBA.

Cheers,

Never bother watching this ever. The other countries vote for their neighbours or the nations they like and agree with their policies. The UK will always do badly as the rest of Europe dislikes us.
It has nothing to do with the singing.

You don't bother watching because you take it seriously. You actually think the best should win.... It's not about that. It's about laughing, have a few friends over and trashing the competition and seeing who has the most rediculous clothes/dancers/routine..whatever.
Stop actually seeing it as a competition and just view if for the absolute humor it is.. you'll probably enjoy it more.
I can't help but laugh that these poor artists take this so seriously. I feel bad for them for like .00002 seconds.

"it has nothing to do with the singing" If it had ANYTHING to do for singing, even for England, why oh why put forth Blue as your entry? Really? They were about singing? Really?

Not enough truly awful songs this year which was a shame but still bad enough to be entertaining. No one's going to be as good as old Terry on the commentary but Graham Norton did OK. There were a few comments that had me laughing. When Blue got to the top of the leader board at one point the "quick take a picture" comment made me laugh. Oh and the "Oh the magic of make up, you should have seen her in rehearsals" got a lol as well.

I wonder if the rest of Europe has commentary that basically pokes fun at the competition in the way that we do in the UK?
