Smile Polaroid?

I would like to get a Polaroid camera to do a 365 days project starting on my 21st birthday next month. Any recommendations?

Don't.

Polaroid instant camera: $99
Polaroid 300 film: 10$ for 10 exposures - so 365 pictures = $365 in FILM!

That's $465 for a camera for a year, if you don't mess up any exposures and have to do reshoots.

You COULD instead get a point and shoot and memory card for $200, and make your own
Project 365 photo book on blurb.com for about $120 (or less).

Take the $145 you save and put it in the gas tank so you can drive around and take the pictures.

I didn't even know Polaroid was back until I saw the 'Chase' show actors using them to photo bad guys. I was like "WTF? 1985 called, it wants it camera back!"

That's true. I got excited for the 365 days project and didn't think it through! =]
I currently have a d80 just wanted to play around with a polaroid.

Thanks for the website though, I will definitely use that

You're welcome. The d80 would be a fantastic 365 project camera...

I looked at a lot of websites when trying to do a Disney trip photo book. I like blurb, because:
You download the software and make the whole thing on your pc. None of that web-based crap. When you are done, you upload it to their site.
It gives you complete control over layouts. Most other sites that i tried force you into certain layouts, you have no real graphic design choice. Blurb gives you a lot of sample layouts to pick from, but you can start with a blank page if you want. I understand that snapfish might have added that ability, but i don't know. Once you learn one, it's hard to switch.

Good luck to try this site...

I've actually never gone into using websites just because I did some scrap booking .. more time consuming but I enjoyed it ahah. I will most likely use this blurb since it seems easy and as you said you have complete control, which is awesome
Until then, I have to continue mastering my camera and lighting..

Fuji film still makes fp-100 and fp-3000 color and b&w polaroid film. Its great and only about $9 per 10 images.

Get a cheap Polaroid land camera like the "Colorpack II". They can be had for less then $20 on Ebay and my works great. The lens leaves a bit to be desired and focusing can be a bit haphazard, but the images look great and its a lot of fun.

Some of the common reasons that people do '365' projects are to get shooting regularly, improve their knowledge about their camera and photography, and to exercise creativity. This would be a good opportunity for you to master your D80, as you mentioned.

Another nice thing about these projects is that the only rules are the ones that you make up. If you still wanted to play around with Polaroids, or any other cameras, you can mix them into the project, also.

Landcam eBay and sx70 blend

There's alot of manipulations can be done with Polaroid film, I enjoy mine but don't use it much as film is expensive
