A friend I met on a photography weekend last July emailed today. He has joined a photography club and commented at the pub that his images were blurred.
To cut a long story short, the upshot was that he was told that Glasses wearers and Nikons don't mix. He has since tried without his glasses and Canons with glasses and now thinks they are right. I am a little sceptical but has anyone heard of this? If so, is there something you can buy to go over the eye piece to make it prescription? He is thinking about changing his whole kit which sounds very expensive! tia

Canon has built-in dioptric adjustment (-3.0 - +1.0 diopter)
I can't imagine Nikon not having the same. the Nikon D70 has a built-in diopter adjustment with a range of -2 to +1 adjusting this will allow some users to focus without their glasses. In addition to the small amount of correction that is built into some Nikon SLR cameras, he can also attach a eyepiece correction lens. In otherwords, your friend should first read the manual to see if it has built-in diptric adjustment, if not, maybe look into the eyepiece corrections lenses. Psst, http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answ...ter-adjustment Google is your friends friend. |

Thank Al. I am waiting to hear back about his ss first lol then the adjustment. I thought there would be an attachment piece but haven't researched it yet. Thank you for confirming.
ps this will sound very strange to most who didn't see the post, but I often think about you as I am sitting here in the dark to do my colour adjustments and processing - lol

I'd be curious to hear what the basis for such a claim was, because right now it just sounds ridiculous. I know plenty of photographers that shoot Nikon and wear glasses. I do it and don't have any problems. If I thought about it I could probably come up with a good list of famous photographers that do it. Joe McNally and Scott Kelby come to mind.

i have my diopter adjusted to my prescription, so I just take my glasses off.

I've shot on six different Nikon bodies, all with glasses. Missed focus is my fault (or the camera's), not my glasses' fault.

Was the source of this information a devout Canonite perchance?
Also, why doesn't he just use auto focus?
