I'm a student in university but always had an interest in photography as long as I remember. I've done a few photoshoots with friends, but never gave anything to them except the end result.
I always felt that I should be giving them a bit more for their troubles, but never know what. They're always the ones that seem to be excited for the shoot when I ask them shyly, the only compensation I can't really offer is flat money. Any suggestions on kinds of compensation for their time? As a form of gratitude? Thanks for reading.

To be honest with you, giving someone professional level photographs is reward enough in itself.. Why don't you go down a local photo studio and find out how much a shoot like the one you're doing would cost, that will give you a fairly good idea of how much you're implicitely giving them for their time.

I wouldn't ask someone to pay if I actually asked them to be a subject in a shoot. Whether I would give them much in the way of full resolution photos is another story though. |
