Default I got Editors Photo of the Month

I have only been taking photographs for just over a year now and post some to here, most to flickr and some to Photography Monthly on their online gallery.

I received this in an email:

We would like your image Angles (which have been uploaded to the Photography Monthly website) to be considered for the gallery, either to appear in the May or June Issue of the magazine.

Well is sent off a higher res image and got this email a week ago:

Good Morning and congratulations, I am writing to inform you that you are our readers image of the month in the May issue of Photography Monthly.

If you send me your postal address I shall send you a copy of the magazine and your prize – a Lexar SD or CF, card and reader.

This is the image:

Angles

This is what the editor said when I found it in the magazine:

It has been a while since a graphic architectural composition such as this has caught my eye. But Dennis has got everything right here to make him a worthy winner. His use of perspective, reflection, highlight and shadow detail really made his image stand out on our website.

To top it all off this image was taken whilst on the DPS London Walk.

Im glad I went along.

Megga happy.

Congratulations!

But tell me, did you "His use of perspective, reflection, highlight and shadow detail really made his image stand out", or did you go "oh that looks cool, I'll take a pic"? I always do the latter, then some poncy art dickhead tries to interpret it :P

Congrats! That is indeed very cool. And a great image, worthy of the win.

Thanks guys.

Biomech - I took the photo as It was a different angle from the others I had taken that day. I wanted to try and show a vanishing perspective. I had also been concentrating on reflections that day, there are many in my London DPS folder on my Flickr page.

I had no idea how it would turn out, I was shooting in B&W and in RAW that day so I converted to High Contrast B&W in LR when I got back. I initially didn't like it but my wife did, and the rest is as posted. lol

Thanks for all the comments guys.
