Default What was your first job EVER?

The going back to the '80's thread took me waaaay back and I wistfully remembered my very first job aged 14 working in a small hotel. My job was waitressing at breakfast time then making the beds and cleaning the rooms, then coming back at 6pm to waitress the evening meal and doing a bit of washing up! It was such a cute job! Of course I was still at school then so I could only do it at weekends and in the school holidays. I was a loyal worker and worked for this hotel for 3 years until I went to college - to do a tourism course.

What about you? What was your very first job?

My very first job was at a local bicycle shop. I worked there from the time I was 13 until I was 16. Never got much of a paycheck, but I had some seriously nice bikes!

My first "real" job was working at KFC. The absolutely best job for a kid. I had benefits including paid vacation and bonuses.

Prior to that, I was the annoying "would you like your lawn mowed?" kid.

My very 1st job was in a film commercial for Carnation Milk (I got to drink it!). Sadly, I don't remember it (too young), nor have I been able to get a copy of it. But it did allow me to take a trip to Europe years later, so that was pretty cool.

in an engineering office as a Draftsman.

I had a "one day only" job before that, and that was loading a truck with haybails, then loading that into a barn.................not much fun with chronic hayfever and no Antihistamines in sight.

What a wide variety already!

The biggest tips I ever got were from the Americans that came to stay however they let you know if they weren't satisfied by anything (not like the put up and shut up Brits!) Got a £5 note once all the other British guests either left nothing or I got 50p.

Ha! My first real job was as a telemarketer for Olan Mills when I was 16. I had done a little babysitting before that, but that doesn't really count.
