Default Canadian politics

...which to all you americans is more than some moose and beavers playing hockey

Well, the Conservatives officially has a majority government, thankfully. Now I admit Harper is not the perfect PM, but unlike Layton or Ignatieuff, has and will do something to help the economy, and more important (to me), students. Plus a stable majority is just what Canada needed at a time like this, with a possible coalition that would have slowed down or halted recovery.

Anyways, I'm partying. All you Canadians are invited

Default Australian Politics

I wish it was like that here in Australia. We have a hopeless minority government, led by a Prime Minister with an egg up her bum and policies up there as well.

She is leading this country to financial obliviom. She has a following of 33% and if an election was called today would be annihilated.

Now with the rubbish carbon dioxide tax she's proposing, we'll all be paying through the nose to raise $500,000,000 each year for the U.N. and the poor under privileged countries.

Cheers,

John W

Ugh, we've been struggling for years under various coalition governments. And we've already got carbon tax!

Congrats to you Canadians on getting yourselves a majority government.

Sad thing is, a vote for any major party here is a vote for an extremist minority group thanks to idiotic Coalition Governments.

Congrats on Change and progress...

I don't wish to get in to a debate over Australian politics - I'm really not that interested. But Julia Gillard is not the first Australian Prime Minister to have been born overseas. Apparently it is not part of their constitution that this should be so. Infact the constitution of Australia does not even mention the position of Prime Minister. How odd.

I get where all you Aussies are coming form. I have some friends there and visited not long ago. Most things cost about 50% more over there, and houses cost about double the houses they do even in one of the most expensive areas here. And that's with salaries only about 10% higher.

Yes well not any more, our dollar is sitting at $1.10 US and imports are flooding in and cheaply as well. Our houses are more expensive for two reasons, firstly because every one wants to live here and secondly because we build our homes mostly from brick a commodity unknown in ther US where stucco chicken wire and render is the norm.

We're keeping out the Big Bad Wolf.

Cheers,

John W
