I'm sure security is going to be heightened. Great he's gone, but I worry about the aftermath.

Me and a couple friends wonder what this will mean for our husbands. They're all in Iraq, but still. I doubt it'll change anything with them being there, but if it means they get to come home, that would be awesome. ( I yell obscenities at the TV every time I see that new series called "Coming Home" It's great that those soldiers are home, but I want mine home too.
I too wonder what this will mean,...does that mean that Osama's #2 will step up to take his place then? Like the Vice President does for the President? I sure hope not,...even as such, you know our forces will hunt the rest of the Al Qaeda leaders.

Killing him is almost* completely symbolic, satisfying the blood-lust of the average american. Now the enemy is faceless, which is quite appropriate since al-quaida is a highly disjointed movement. I'm eager to see what happens next because the hoi polloi seem to thrive on identifying an individual enemy or figurehead despite how meaningless that is. edit: * the fact that he remained alive or uncaptured was likely a great propaganda tool for recruiting new extremists.
