I got a Pentax compatible IR remote from eBay for £3.69 including postage. Works perfectly!

With this one you can do time lapse, and exposure bracket to build HDR pictures

Not bad but I don't subscribe to the Church of Steve Jobs.

I suppose I just have to stick to PK_Tether for more advanced remote control.

Tried building it. It worked pretty good in prototype mode, where everything was just stuck together by friction. When i soldered it, it dont work no more. Not sure what i did.

Tried again... Got it working. Mine looks a lot prettier than that. Great fun to play with. I can see it coming in handy. It's only an inch long in the bag, a lot smaller than the push button remote and ten feet of wire. The church of Jobs is great...

Sounds like a lot of work for no actual savings. Waste of time and effort, frankly.
