Ok, so I joined this forum after getting the newsletters for a while. I see an assignment I'm interested in participating in. While reading the rules it says the picture can only be 740px on the long side.
My question is: If my camera takes pictures that are 12mp how do i reduce the image to post onto this site? I have a Canon T1i and use the Digital software that came with it for post processing and sometimes use Picasa for some edits. Can someone tell me how to reduce the image size with one of these softwares? Thanks in advance for any help. rcarder |

i think most people here use flickr to upload and it gives you the options to pick which size you would like to post. THat's the easy way for me anyway

Not sure what your workflow is, but a lot of people (myself included) don't upload full size images to the web.
In Photoshop: Image>Image Size Lightroom lets you enter max dimensions on export. I usually just upload at 720 (if you're at exactly 740, it can slightly affect the padding).
