Hi guys and girls,
So I'm making my way across the pond from the UK to sunny Orlando, Florida for 2 weeks of crazyness in the Theme parks in like 5 days now! Wahoo cant wait! Naturally the EOS will be coming with me so I thought I'd post up and find out from people what are some amazing must visit places for photos and amoungst other treats that Orlando has to offer? I'll have to get some shots in Disney as well as old Universal and the other parks, but is there anything else out there that I might not be aware of? I am going to take the coach to Busch Gardens hoping to get some great shots of the animals, really looking forward to it. Anyone have any ideas or experiences to share? JJ |

Cant say.... I only go to orlando for Rat World, but it has enough to photograph that youd never have to leave. Dont forget to poke around in all the hotels... Not just the parks.
All the big ones are quite impressive.

I live here in Orlando, used to work for Disney, been here for 10 years. Epcot's fire works show which happens every night is spectacular, Disney's Animal Kingdom has a great silverback gorilla compound which I've been meaning to shoot. Beautiful sunsets on the west coast especially down near Sarasota area. There is so much to shoot here, guess it depends what you're looking for.
Edit...and if you are here tomorrow ( Friday the 29th ) the second to last space shuttle takes off around 3:30 pm I believe. Depending on cloud cover....you should be able to see it from anywhere in Orlando. Last edited by Sodonn; 04-28-2011 at 07:47 PM. |

If you want to visit a quaint old Florida town, try to get to Winter Park. Park Avenue has some nice shopping and good restaurants and pretty architecture. If you want to get to the beach, drive east to Cocoa Beach. There is a large surf shot (Ron Jon) and the village itself is really fun. (although you will have to sing the theme tune to "I Dream of Jeanie" on the way over in the car)
On the way out to Cocoa you could stop for lunch and an airboat ride at the Lone Cabbage Fish Camp. It's sort of a quirky place. (they don't have a website but you can google them) It's on the same road you'd take to Cocoa Beach (Rt 520) Enjoy your time in Sunshine State! Happy to have you. Cocoa Beach, Florida, Family Vacation Guide, CocoaBeach.Com, cocoa beach hotels, restaurants, shuttle launches and more! Home / City of Winter Park

Wow there certainly sounds like a lot to look at, Unfortunately I've only budgeted to do the Felx Ticket which covers, Universal, Islands of Adventure, Aquaitca, Busch Gardens, Seaworld and Wet and Wild. I've scheduled a day at Magic Kingdom but it sucks I couldn't afford to go to Epcot and Animal Kingdom also... And that truely is just my luck about the space shuttle.
I'm sure I'll get some good photos and I'll just have to be creative, thanks for the recommendations about the beach and quaint towns I'll definately Hire a car and have a little drive around and see what I can find... I can't wait! Thanks JJ |
