I somehow lost a folder in a large folder transfer to a double-back up 5 months ago.
I struggled like hell to find a easy solution when I went searching for a specific and finally stumbled across RemoSoftware.

Ran the demo, got stuck, dialed up live chat and the bloke there walked me all the way to the deleted file. I had to purchase the software to actually recover the file, but that was the best $40 I have spent this year. CR2 raw file is recovered and it is back in lightroom where it belongs.

Consider that I had written plenty onto the same disk, run defrags, disk cleanups etc.
