Default Irene Sendler

This really just ... UGH... pisses me right off.

Irena Sendler - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here's the important bit.

Quote:
There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena.

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer spe******t.

She had an 'ulterior motive'.

She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews (being German).

Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids).

She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.

She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family.

Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

2007 Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize.

She was not selected.
President Obama won one year before becoming President for his work as a community organizer for ACORN

and
Al Gore won also--- for a slide show on Global Warming.

I was pissed with Al Gore won and even more pissed when Obama won. Again, I've lost my mind when I see the "competition" for the fake award they got.

Yep, I saw this maybe two months ago and I wasn't much surprised. I would be surprised to see a world famous prize or organization that's not corrupted.

Well, we won't really know if she was even nominated for at least 50 years, according to Nomination Facts

There were many people who did good things in bad times, including Sendler. She was also lucky that only her arms and legs where broken, most collaborators against the Reich died of lead poisoning within 2 minutes of their "trial" ending.
She won many awards in her home country and I would suspect she did not go to her grave wishing she had won an extra one. (She even got one from the Pope, the very seat of power that gave the holocaust a religious stamp of approval)

My guess is that this rather pathetic search for attention comes from some ejit who probably never heard or cared for the plight of Polish Jews until it served their narrow right wing agenda in the US. The kind of bigoted, blinkered, NATIONALIST mindset that a young Mrs Sendler spent her life fighting against.

Put that in your "peace pipe" and smoke it.

That may be, whether or not she was or was not nominated, the fact still remains that there are 100,000 other people who deserved the award than Gore and Obama.

Really... do you want point out which parts?

The women was overlooked for 65 years... but only 2 politically convenient past winners are picked out as "wicked by comparison" choices.

Just do a quick google about and the only place you find this email(story ending with the Obama/ Acorn ending) is on far right websites. You know, the kind that hates immigrants and outsiders, the ones that curse all day at the Jewish lobby. The kind that wouldn't piss on a burning mexican let alone save their babies at the risk of torture or death.

It is painfully dull rhetoric, but also dangerously dumb and needs to be called out for what it really is.
