Hi, every1!
Mad about having lot of pictures and you do not know where to save them on your PC? Believe me, I've been thinking about it for a long time. There are so many concepts to classify/organize a photo that it's somehow a pretty difficult task. I want to share with you what I did. I made a compilation of the possible categories in which you could save a photo (after reading seeeeeeveral books and web sites). Then I created an installer program, so that if you want to have this set of folders in your PC, you could have it done with just 2 clicks! I titled it PHALBUM (PHotoALBUM). I know that name is very popular, maybe it will turn into something else later. Go and try Phalbum for free (just half megabyte to download). The file is that big because it also includes a free application, that I also developed, to protect your JPG files. For further info about this application, visit JPGprotector site. Please, gimme some feedback. And read the WELCOME file if you want to get involved in this project. PS: It will never replace photo-organizing/tagging softwares as PICASA or alike, but I bet that once you try it, you will thank me. PSS: It's a very good practice to classify/organize new photos as soon as possible.

I tend to let Lightroom organise me for it.. Or should that be the other way aroud..
Anyway, attaching keywords and so on helps sort the chaff.. I remember my dad's house after my mum died.. We went through everything so he could downsize. And what did we find? Nearly EVERY draw in the whole house was full of photos.. Seriously, we calculated there were probably 300,000 photographs, collected over 40 years or so. Some of the older ones, from before me and my sisters were born, were really interesting.. Turns out my mum and dad were once young and good looking! Anyway, I can't think of a better way to organise photos except by keywords and keeping track via a database.. Until the software gets clever enough to recognise the contents, that's pretty much how it's going to be.<<
