Default For music lovers only..what's your favorite period

Pre 1950's
1950's - 1960's
1970's - 1980's
1990's - 2000's
today's music

Although I first started being interested in music of the 50's (kind of grew up on it) I think my favorite period was the 1970''s - 1980's. Jackson Browne, Bonnie Rait, The Eagles, Little River Band, Van Morrison, even Donna Summer...all great in my book

I'm with ya there. Music is a huge part of my life. I was born in 71', but some of my earliest memories are from bands like America, Manfred Mann, Pink Floyd, the Doors ( still one of my faves), Jo Jo Gunn, Clapton, Cream (late 60's). Allman Bros.. I wasn't much in to 80's pop except for Prince, Tears for Fears, Duran Duran, and stuff such as that. After that I turned in to a head banger when I discovered Metal, and that whole culture. Still am, but I am going back to enjoying some blues, and 70's rock again. I guess it's come full circle for me. I've even started playing some guitar again after being away from it for a few years. It doesn't feel as much like work now as it used to.

my choice is the 60's to70's. After that period is no music at all.

80's and 90's .....this collection probably best sums up my taste

Left of the Dial: Dispatches from the '80s Underground - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

90's would be very early 90's....

70's/80's here too. Pretty much grew up listening to Metal and Punk. As I've got older though my interests have broadened no end though and I'll listen to just about anything except the mundane mainstream kind of stuff that Cowell promotes via the x factor etc, kinda leaves me cold.

I love the Glam Rock bands from the 70's, like Mud, The Rubettes and Slade. Music was such fun then. Then of course the 80's, Judas Priest, Sabbath, Scorpions, AC/DC, kinda thing as well as Sex Pistols, Stiff Little Fingers, The Clash etc. Some later stuff too, Metallica, Green Day, Dropkick Murphy's, The Killers, to name but a few.

Then when I'm more mellow, (increasingly as I get older), Stevie Nicks, Amy McDonald, Transvision Vamp, Roxette, Bowie kinda stuff.

Nothing quite sends a tingle down my spine like the twin lead guitars harmonizing with one another, of Thin Lizzy though. So Powerful.

Nice to see Lizzy mentioned , I'm a huge fan , without doubt my all time fave band growing up. I still have at home some old Metal Hammer and Raw magazines that were tributes to Phil and Lizzy......trying to remember a photographer that featured a lot in RAW , Phil Alexander?

too tough to choose...like asking "whats your favorite lens". All depends on the moment!!!
My Ipod: M&P's California Dreaming, Disturbed's Down with the Sickness, the soundtrack from "Wicked" , Bush, Zepplin, Sugarloaf, Sweet, NIN and ya, Thin Lizzy too.
