I'm so stupid. I don't know what to do.
I was outside, snapping away, and accidentally pointed at the sun and took a shot cause I was snapping so fast trying to capture the action. I know you're not supposed to do that, and paniced. I was hoping it wasn't pointed at the sun long enough, but I took a picture of something else to test, and it was the blue/white-ish sun sky. Now I really don't know enough about this as I should. I took it inside, and took a picture in the low light, and it was fine. So I thought, Whew, it's fine, and tried it again, but it didn't do it again. I know I'm a moron. Please, just please help me. I don't know what to do. It's a very expensive camera and this just proves I'm too stupid and novice to have it. Right now I have it in its case, the lens unnattached, but I really don't know what else to do. I don't know if I should leave it, or what? There's no way the sensor's not damaged, right? I'm crying my heart out right now. I'm a wimp, I know...but this camera is part of my life. Please, just please help me. I'll never forgive myself. Please. I know I'm a total and complete idiot.

Yikes! Take a breath and calm down. Panicking isn't helping
![]() I've taken shots in to the sun before, with no damage. You say it worked when you took a shot indoors, sounds like all is fine. I'm sure there are folks on here with more techincal knowledge that can help you. But I'm certain that you won't do any more damage if you take the camera out of case, put a lens back on and take some test shots - away from the sun.

wait.. what?
what exactly is the problem? you didn't explain it very well.. I don't understand what the actual problem with the camera is. are you saying the images are damaged and imprinted with this " blue/white-ish sun sky"

What settings have you got? If you've got it wide open, or a high ISO you might just be overexposing the shot.

Basically, I pointed my camera into the sun and took a shot. I though, OH GOD! I turned a way, just pointed at the grass to test it, and the images returned white. I went inside to test in the low light, and it was fine. I went back outside, and tested again in the bright light, and the images are white again. |

If you both okay to boot up again, should I close up the lens and test again? |

But here's 1: Manual. Would you like me to change the exif before taking the shot or leave it at what it is? I could never thank you enough. |
