Default New toy!

Just got home with my first DSLR (canon 500D) and I'm so excited I can barely sit still, but the battery has to charge for 2 hours. I just wanted to share this with someone who would understand. Now back to reading my manual.

Lol....have fun with your new camera. I felt the same way not too long ago with a new lens, I left the store and was in my truck putting it on my camera!

Oh, I remember that feeling. That two hours probably seemed like forever, right? Have fun with your new "toy"! And share some of your shots!

I've discovered that shooting with a DSLR is even more different than I thought, but great fun. I'll be posting some this weekend once I've had a little bit more practice :-)

Hmph, two hours? I didn't need no stinkin' two hours! I commenced clicking with the available juice provided by the previous owner. I didn't get many Christmas presents as a child....

Congrats! I highly recommend buying at least a 2nd battery. That way, you'll always have one fully charged.

Enjoy your new toy!

I discovered that I can't make my pc (windows 7 64 bit edition) work with my canon 500D (no drivers apparently), so I'm waiting to get a card reader which is working with my operating system. Guaranteed when I do finally download all the pictures I took over the weekend at least half of them will be out of focus even though they looked ok on the LCD screen ;-)

But even with all this, I'm really enjoying my new toy. Hopefully I get to post some photos by tomorrow evening. Thanks for asking though!

Oh and yes, I'm definitely thinking of a second battery - that sounds like a very sensible thing to have!
