Arrow Give it to me straight!!

Howdy people. I'm a bit new to the DPS and I've started to put some of my work in albums on my profile. I would like to ask anybody willing to take a peek at them give me an honest critique. I guess you can either comment on the photo or my profile or back here? Any and either way I would be very thankful for your time and feedback. THANKS!!

You might do better to post a photo for critique in the appropriate critique forum after reviewing the Critique Forum Rules

If you want honesty, here we go.

All but two or three of your seniors shots have that heavy blur/glow effect going on (Orton effect if I remember right).
Personally, I find it horrid. It is just so... overdone. It's all up to personal taste though. I just don't think that every photo needs it.

Maternity. You've got some pretty unflattering views of those bulging bellies. Try not to shoot up at the belly.
Check out SusanH on these forums for some freakin' awesome maternity and newborn photos!
You might get some good pointers on posing from looking at some of her SYS posts.

I have to say. I find the baby with mirror shot pretty damn freaky. Sorry.

Otherwise, I'd say lay off the vignettes and selective coloring a bit. These things "work" on very few photos.

I think your biggest weak point in your photography is your apparent tendency to go overboard with some effects in PP.
Sometimes one gets tired of looking at people that don't look real anymore.

Hope I don't sound too harsh.
I'm really not trying to be a jacka**, but someone has to tell ya!

I think you could do really well if you just left things to look a little more natural.

I think they're fine for the most part. The post processing is a little much on most but the composition and focus is pretty good. Most of us here have a lot to improve on and you're on the right track. Just keep clicking.

+1
I did take note that the composition was overall pretty good. Forgot to add that in my post.

Looks like one to me. Am I missing some sort of joke?
It sure as hell isn't twins! It is mirrored, whether or not it was an actual mirror or PP. I think...

Do you really think this isn't a mirror?
