There have been several threads lately bemoaning the fact that it's really hard to provide helpful critiques to users because there are so many of them who aren't following the rules.
Rather than try to change those behaviors, maybe it would make more sense to help those who'd like to help do so a little more efficiently. So, if you're interested in contributing, use the query below to make yourself a bookmark: http://digital-photography-school.com/forum/search.php?do=process&query=exif&replyless=1&replylimit=2&forumchoice[]=36&childforums=1 This will show threads in the Critique areas with two or fewer replies and "exif" somewhere in the text (this being the most reasonable leading indicator of "rule following" I could fit into a search string). Note: This is a "mission impossible" bookmark -- as soon as you use it, the forum software replaces all the good stuff with a "search ID", and the search is useless as a bookmark at that point (thus, it self-destructs), so make sure you're actually bookmarking the query above, rather than the one with the search ID in it. You can find a full explanation for the query string on the following vBulletin thread: How To Submit A Search Through The URL If you want to alter any of the values before you save it, knock yourself out. Hopefully, this will help the people who might want to offer criticism focus on threads that haven't already had plenty of help. |
