Default My 1st Contest

I just had to share....I started my first contest on my FB photography page last week. I'd been putting it off, kept thinking if they were only "liking" me to help someone win something free, what was the point? Then I put it off more cause I didn't want to take the winners out in the snow. It was kind of slow going at first, and I was so so nervous that hardly anyone was going to do it. "Thank you, you 3 are the winners with 1, 2, & 3 referrals each, congratulations!" *L*

Then a girl I did senior pictures for in the fall got into it....And a woman who's wedding I'm doing in May who wants a free mini for her daughter's 2 year's.....And then more....For 2 days it was insane. It climbed like 470 in 2 days, and now I'm at a little over twice the people seeing my work as I was a week ago. I'm still in shock and really really hoping things take off for me even more this year.

I was telling myself that maybe if I hit 625, I'd go ahead and announce on April Fool's Day when it ends that I was giving another mini free.....Now that it's at like 1,055 or so, I've decided to have my April Fool's Day "joke" be that the 3 winners who get what I promised are actually the ones in 2nd, 3rd, & 4th place and I'm going to do a couple extra pictures for the girl in 1st. They talked about wanting them so much, a lot of people will be paying attention when they get them.....Just gotta do a kick a** job, right? Just wanted to share with some other people who would "get" how excited I've been over the last few days!

Congrats, but be careful. The new-ish rules on running promotions on Facebook are somewhat draconian and easy to violate.

Me too. Maybe I shouldn't read these things so early in the morning.
