I'm driving from Raleigh, NC to Florida (Cape Canaveral)
for the next space shuttle launch in April. Any suggestion of places to visit in the area or along I-95 between Raleigh and Cape Canaveral to take some photos. thanks |

Savanna georgia is supposed to be quite scenic in places. A lot of 95 along the Georgia coast is open to marshes and rivers and that ilk. Most of SC is just pine trees along 95. I stopped in Flagler beach fl and took a picture of myself in front of one of the "to catch a predator" bait houses. You pass by dayton a beach too on the way down there.
There are a few good bridges around Jacksonville you can get from the car, one if you go around town to the east, you might even see a cruise ship in port. If you stay on 95 through town you might see some interesting buildings. Traffic sucks tho. |

make time for savanna! Jax at night is nice, st augustine has lots of history..wherever your going to be to watch the launch if it's roadside get there early as in hours and hours early to get your spot, it will be packed I assure you. I was fortunate enough to see a launch from post canaveral as we were waiting to depart on a cruise..Probably 3-5 miles at most from the launch pad..you will not be disappointed, it's awe inspiring! Enjoy!
